What is counselling?Counselling is a way to talk about what's on your mind or what's bothering you– your thoughts, feelings, and struggles – in a safe, supportive space. I'm here to listen, help you understand what's going on, and guide you as you work through any challenges you might be facing.

What happens in a counselling session?In a session, you talk about what's on your mind, what's bothering you or any problems you have. I listen and ask questions, perhaps help you see things from a different perspective or offer ideas on how to work through your problem.

How much do you charge?I charge £60 per session. 25% discount on first session. I offer discounts to students and individuals facing financial hardship. Call me to discuss how I can accommodate your needs.

Is counselling confidential?Yes, counselling is confidential. However, there are certain exceptions, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, which I will discuss with you during the first session.

What types of issues can you help me with?I can help with a wide range of issues including anxiety, cancer, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, low self-confidence and more.

Where do you hold face-to-face sessions?For face to face appointments, I hold sessions in my home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Can I have a free consultation to help me decide if counselling is for me?Of course. I can arrange a free 20 minute telephone or online video consultation where you can ask me questions, tell me what you'd like to talk about in our sessions and get to know each other a little. This is a no obligation consultation, after which you can take time to decice whether counselling is for you. If you do decide to try counselling, It’s worth trying a few sessions to see if it helps. However, you are not required to commit to a minimum number of sessions.

Do I have to book a certain number of sessions?No. Once you start with counselling, you can decide when to stop. I may recommend a certain number of sessions, depending on the issue you have, but ultimately you decide when to stop. You can always come back to counselling when you're ready for it.
